Archdiocese News: Keep the Dream Alive 2019

ARCHDIOCESE of Vancouver announces the 2019 Walk to Keep the Dream Alive is on Sunday June 2, 12:00pm. The walk, which is open to all, will be held at Tynehead Regional Park in Surrey and will raise funds for Domestic Abuse services – Our Lady of Good Counsel Society’s programs including Eva’s House and will help impact the lives of many women and children. STA News: Spring Concert on May 28

STA Music department will hold their annual Spring Concert at Centennial Theatre on Tuesday, May 28 beginning at 7 pm. All parishioners are invited to attend.

A successful International Night took place on Friday, May 24. We hope new families to the school had a chance to attend and experience some old fashioned STA hospitality.

Thirteen members of the STA track and field team qualified to participate in the BC High School Track and Field Championships in Kelowna on May 30-June 1. We wish our athletes good luck with their events and safe travels.

STA NEWS – Mark June 8 on your calendar for ‘A last walk though St. Thomas Aquinas High School’. If you went to STA, if your children went to STA, if you worked bingo at STA, this is a last opportunity to walk down memory lane through the hallways and classrooms of the old school. On June 8. from 1 to 4pm, the school will be open to all. Refreshments will be served. Tickets are free. Please RSVP http://www.alumnista.com

CWL News

CWL NEWS – Due to a change in plans, there will not be a June Meeting. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again in September after a relaxing and, hopefully, sunny summer.

CWLGARAGE SALE- Saturday, June 1st from 9:30 am to 2:30pm in the parish hall. Tables are still available. To book a table please call Irene at 604 243 9889 or Rosanna – 604 351 7400. The cost of the table is $25.

CWL Bake Sale Donations – We would appreciate any baked goods from parishioners who want to donate to our Bake Table at the Garage Sale. Items can be dropped off on Friday, May 31st at the office by 3:30 pm or at the parish hall from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Also, after 8:30 am on Sat. June 1st. All monies raised will go to the numerous charities and programs that we support. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

STA International Night on May 24

ST. THOMAS AQUINAS HIGH SCHOOL would like to invite you and your entire family to the community event of the year! International Night will be held on Friday, May 24 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm in the STA Gym. Come sample some delicious food from around the world, enjoy entertainment including the STA Jazz Band. The funds go directly to local charities, such as the Door Is Open, where STA provides a meal each month. The entrance fee is $2 per person or $5 per family. Food tickets are $2 each. Annual Vigil

ANNUAL VIGIL at Lions Gate Hospital- North Shore Pro-Life- Sunday, May 19, 2-3pm. A quiet gathering of those people on the North Shore who recognize the unjust taking of human life in abortion. John Stuart Mill said, “all that is needed for evil to flourish is that Good men should look on and do nothing”. Mark your calendars and plan to attend!

The LYNN VALLEY GARDEN CLUB holds its annual plant sale next Saturday, May 18 at St. Stephen’s hall, from 10 am-1 pm. Thousands of plants including vegetables, herbs, shade-loving, sun-loving and more, will be on sale. Most plants cost from $2-$5. The club is celebrating its 75th anniversary and will be offering free coupons to meetings. Free admission. Plant sales: cash only. Partial proceeds are donated to local garden projects and post-secondary scholarships for horticulture students. For more information: http://www.lynnvalleygardenclub.org
