P.R.E.P. is the Parish Religious Education Program. You can learn more about the PREP Mandate from the Archdiocese of Vancouver from this page.
We start the year in September with 70 students from grades one to seven. We have 8 teachers who volunteer their time and talents. We use the Christ Our Life program and supplement the year with liturgical material from the church year. The Confirmation class attend Spirit Day in the Fall. They also participate in organizing the Remembrance Day reception for the veterans of our parish. For our advent project all the students collect socks, gloves , food etc for our local food bank and shelter. The students have a very busy month of December preparing the choir and gospel narrative for the Christmas Eve Mass.
The students return to PREP in January. Our Lenten project is to help and pray for the seminaries of our Archdiocese. In the Spring our grade 2 class receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
In April the confirmation class attends a one-day retreat at Westminster Abbey in Mission. Also in April the First Holy Communion class have a retreat at the parish hall. The Knights of Columbus prepare a pancake breakfast before the retreat for the children.
In the spring our grade 7 students receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Our grade 2 students receive First Holy Communion in May or June. We finish our year of classes in May.

We are very fortunate to have Fr. Schwab visit the classes on a regular basis. Fr. Schwab hears confessions during advent and during lent. The children look forward to Fr. Schwab’s visits and enjoy hearing his stories. We are also very fortunate to have a committed team of Catechists who give their time and talents every week for the children.
